I am working for a while on RETS IDX. While working I have found that lots of people are having problem pulling the data from RETS server and most of the time they fail to get the right solution.
its true that RETS servers are little bit slow because they provide bunch on data in XML format. I wish if RETS server become updated and they provide data in JSON format. :)
Few open source solution are there for RETS server.

I like the PHRETS solution most.Reason behind it is as follows..
1. Its a open source project and author is updating it whenever its necessary.
2. Its well documented. Go to the Wiki page to see the details.
3. Developer has lots of freedom to implement his own logic to implement it.
